Interview with Dayna Delux

Dayna Delux is just pure cuteness. When I was first starting to combine my love for pinup with my love of cars I happened to read on Dayna's MySpace page that she loved her Mini and that inspired me to create the piece below. Ironically what is funny about this piece is that Dayna is herself quite diminutive and in the illustration she looks like a giantess.

I got to meet Dayna in April of '09 in Vegas at Pinupalooza, and at Viva Las Vegas. She was quite pregnant at the time and still beautiful. I also got her to autograph a "Dayna's Mini" print for me.

What are your top 5 favorite bands? Skinny Puppy, Depeche Mode, Oingo Boingo, Far Away Boys, The Clash

What other pinups work do you admire OR who inspired you? Gil Elvgren inspires me and there’s and ton of Photographers that inspire me!

What accessory can't you live without? Would you consider my iPhone and accessory? haha

What is your favorite pre 1970 vehicle and why? 1934 Ford!! It’s been my dream car since I was young. I wanted to be a gangster with a Tommy Gun! haha

What's your all time favorite movie? Can't choose just one.

What sage advice do you have to offer new models? Don’t get involved with drama. Keep your mouth shut and your head up!

Do you have any tattoos? I have a few small ones and plan on having them removed shortly. Except for my palm tattoo. It hurt too bad to remove it. I earned that one!

How did you pick your stage name? It was kinda chosen for me by friends.

List one thing people are surprised to learn about you? Usually they’re surprised by my height and age. Most people think I’m tall and young but I’m only 5'1" and 33 years old.
