Interview with Scarlett Harlott

Scarlett Harlott is larger than life. A pirate queen and some time pinup model, I was first inspired to do a pinup of her when I saw photos of her in the actual viking armor worn in one of my favorite films, The 13th Warrior. I thought, a Viking Pinup? Not sure it's ever been done. Why not? As the piece progressed and I thought about the Valkyrie warriors and how they were the bombshells of their day, "Valkyrie Bombshell" emerged. That was in August of 2008.

Valkyrie Bombshell became a popular t-shirt design.
Check out Scarlett and her crew wearing them.

In April of '09 I held the first Gerardi Girl Pinup Contest on MySpace. Actually, come to think of it, it was Scarlett who first coined the term "Gerardi Girl". Anyway, Scarlett entered and with the fan base of her loyal pirate minions, after 3 days she was so far ahead that I declared her the winner and removed her from the running in fairness to the other contestants. I met her just a couple days later at Viva Las Vegas and she is just as cool in person as you could imagine. (Thanks to Tim Hunter for the pic of me and Scarlett) I knew that she was planning to put on a Road Warrior Weekend in the fall so I created a post-apocalyptic pinup for her titled "Mad Maxine; The Red Warrior".

In July of '11 Scarlett suggested that I do a Smokey and the Bandit themed pinup featuring a 1977 Trans Am as in the film, and her of course. I liked the idea but decided to give it a slight twist.
What resulted was my third pinup of the redhead, the image below "Scarlett is the Bandit".
