Interview with Violet Fiori

I'd always admired Violet's photos and had mentally put her on my pinup to-do list. In April of '09 I saw her MCing the Viva Las Vegas Fashion show and later I ran into her in the hall where we had a short conversation in which I asked her what kind of cars she liked. She replied that she liked 55-59 Chevy's. That is a favorite time period for me as well and since I'd already done a 55, a 57 and a 59 three times I decided to pair Violet with a 1958 Impala. However, it was 8 months and a gentle reminder before I finally got it done. So with no further adieu here is "Violet's '58".

What are your top 5 favorite bands? That's a hard one to answer because my music selection is rather eclectic. It really depends on my mood. I usually choose what makes me happy, so in order of preference, I would say it's: #1- Dommin, 2- Frank Sinatra, 3- Depech Mode 4- Billy Idol, 5- Anything from the late 1930-1940's that I can swing or lindy hop to.

What other pinups work do you admire OR who inspired you? Dayna Delux is now a dear friend of mine but she most certainly was and still is a huge inspiration. I also look toward Dita Von Teese, Sabina Kelley, Bernie Dexter, Grace Kelley, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Lupe Velez...oh gosh! there are so many, I could be here for days. lol

What accessory can't you live without? A good scarf. It's beautiful by itself but I'm a woman of practicality. Give me something that's versatile and I'm happy. I've used mine for tons of stuff like, ear warmers, a head scarf during rainy or windy days, mittens when I've forget mine, a sling with which to carry a baby, an impromptu leash for my dog, a pillow, makeshift sleeves/shrug, and the list is endless as long as the imagination provides.

What is your favorite pre 1970 vehicle and why? 1930 Rolls Royce PII Brewster with white walls and suicide doors. Class, elegance and style. Yes, please and thank you.

What's your all time favorite movie? Dirty Dancing. I based my idea of the perfect man off of Patrick Swayze's character. By God, that man was hot, and he could DANCE! ::swoon::

What sage advice do you have to offer new models? There is a LOT to learn and I can't sum it all up here. Read my blog regarding the subject. You can find it on my FB page http://www.facebook.com/violetfiori and MySpace page http://www.facebook.com/l/8acbb;myspace.com/violetfiori I also have a YouTube channel where I will be giving even more advice and answering questions posed by anyone that has one regarding Pin up or modeling in general. I can't wait to hear from you!

Do you have any tattoos? Not yet. I plan on getting a wedding band tattooed on my ring finger after I get married though. I chose wisely and I will treat kindly <3

How did you pick your stage name?
What stage name?

List one thing people are surprised to learn about you? My corny/dirty sense of humor throws people off. I'm pretty reserved at first blush so it's not something they expect but once the ice is broken I'm really funny and love to make the people around me laugh. Sometimes they roll their eyes while they do it but that's a mere technicality.
